The Providence Chapter of APICS offers monthly professional development meetings, educational workshops and seminars, certification programs, a job bank, and newsletters. Local, regional, and national speakers are frequently featured at APICS Providence events, presenting topics of interest to today's supply and operations professionals. Events are open to APICS members and non-members. 

Staying Ahead of the Curve with Digital Marketing

On April 24th, the topic is “Staying Ahead of the Curve with Digital Marketing,” a presentation by Karen Etchells of Innovast Digital Marketing. Over the past decade, the Internet, mobility, and social media have drastically impacted our daily routines. For anyone with a product, service or cause to promote, staying ahead of the curve requires being well informed of both current and future trends. Held at the Atwood Grill restaurant in Johnston, RI, participants will enjoy networking and dinner prior to the presentation and Q&A session. 

Persuasice Presentations

On May 10th, APICS-Providence is offering a 1-day workshop entitled, “Persuasive Presentations” given by Eric Molin, who has been teaching public speaking courses in Europe and the US for 10 years. This seminar is designed for business professionals with an end goal being to have their plans, ideas, or products/services accepted or to inspire, educate, or motivate others. It will be held at The Hilton Garden Inn Providence Airport / Warwick. This workshop solves problems people face when giving a presentation or a talk, even to a small audience.

The Providence APICS Chapter and its affiliated student chapter are also hosting a joint Brewery Tour on May 11th at Foolproof Brewing Company in Pawtucket. This is an opportunity to enjoy a behind-the-scenes plant tour while networking with like-minded business people who are there to learn and ask questions about Foolproof’s concept of “experience-based brewing.”
